Greece 23.03.2021. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association (GLSA) proudly announces, retrospectively due to the covid-19 world pandemic, the induction of Dr. Vicky Bafataki from Greece as an Honorary Member.

Dr Vicky Bafataki said about her induction: "GLSA was founded to enhance aquatic injury prevention through lifesaving sport in Greece. Led by Stathis and Eleftheria who lost 3 relatives at sea, GLSA gains the respect way beyond its homeland. I am honoured to be associated with those who gave birth to lifesaving sport in the country that gave birth to the Olympic Games, especially because we dream to see lifesaving in the Olympics one day. I hope that the world lifesaving authority will allow them to bring Greek athletes at the international championships."

Dr. Bafataki holds degrees and masters in Βizantine Archeology, Cultural Communication and Media, Administration of Cultural Units, Bioethics, a PhD in Social Sciences and Culture Finances whereas she is currently doing another PD on Medicine. In 2005, she participated in the International Giuseppe Sciacca Awards competition for new researchers in the "communications" category. She won among 362 young scientists. GLSA President, Dr. Stathis Avramidis said: "GLSA was founded on 4-2-2020. Since then it became the home of lifesaving sport in Greece and a respected organization with national origin and international impact. The words are futile to describe the feelings and the quality of the connection and collaboration she develops with everyone who is lucky enough to be associated with with Dr. Bafataki. Vicky is a woman that mixes in a unique way the old and the modern, art, volunteering, science and family. She is a remarkable creature and yet a down to Earth, modest fighter in the service of mankind. She is a role model in many aspects of life."
