Naomi Grand’Pierre, OLY becomes a GLSA Supporter

Haiti 23.09.2021. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association proudly announces that the Olympian Swimmer Naomi Grand’Piere is accepted as a GLSA Supporter.

Naomi Grand’Piere said: “Dear Dr. Stathis Avramidis and Eleftheria Avramidou, Thank you so much for recognizing my sister and I’s accomplishments in the sport of swimming and awarding us the privileged title of a GLSA Supporter. It is an honor for my life work in sports to correspond with the aims, objectives, and ethos of GLSA. Together with the FHSA, we have established a strong foundation for the Haitian National Team while also helping to improve the drowning problem in Haiti. Specifically in the sport of swimming, we continue to exceed our goals; we have registered more than 10 athletes onto our national roaster, we’ve competed in numerous international events since 2016, we’ve set and broken many of our National records and Haiti recently broke a 28-year-old CCCAN record—the first of many international records to be broken by Haiti. It is so encouraging to receive international recognition and support especially from Greece, given our shared history. The roots of our past bring us together and our alliance will continue into the future as we inspire the youth and adults to pursue excellence in aquatics, water safety and lifesaving sport. I look forward to continuing to serve as a role model not only for the youth in Haiti, but for the youth in Greece and the larger international sports community. Together, with the support of the GLSA, we will achieve great things. As we say back at home: Ansam, Nap Naje Pran Yo! Thank you again for the honor.

She is a champion inside and outside the swimming pools, and without a doubt a messenger of good for mankind. She has a destiny to fulfill and she knows it from such an early age. We comment her for using swimming to change the word bit by bit in the proud nation of Haiti. Our word needs peacemakers and people willing to make a difference. Naomi is one of them!
