GLSA at the IFSTA Council Meeting 2022
International 22.11.2022. The Board Members of the International Association of Swimming Teachers’ Association had their annual council meeting.
The meeting included a synopsis of the achievements and activities of their national organizations for the past year, the mapping progress of swimming teaching programs, the perspectives of organizing the next conferences, opportunities of funding by third parties that want to support the drowning prevention mission, and new ideas to increase membership and engagement by more organizations and nations. The meeting was attended by Leslie Donavan (USA), Vijay Sah (India), Brendon Ward (Australia), Garry Seghers (Vietnam), Dr. Stathis Avramidis (Greece) Dolan Wang (Asia), and the colleagues of the STA Head Office. The IFSTA President, Leslie Donavan, thanked everyone for their participation and input, noted that all the IFSTA organizations have been very productive. IFSTA CEO, Dave Candler, noted that all these noteworthy achievements should be publicized so the rest of the world can see them. Board Member and the GLSA President, Dr. Avramidis, proposed the organizing of an IFSTA Swimming Championships and the involvement of the IFSTA leadership in incoming initiatives in Greece.
