Drowning is a huge social, political and bioethical issue. It needs extensive assesment and study because it represents a serious public health problem. Lifesaving sport is an innovative means to reduce drowning and achieve water safety. Lifesaving sport should become an Olympic sport. The International Awards Giusseppe Sciacca, the Foundation Sciacca and the International Institute of Political Economical and Social Studies support this aspiration. Good luck with the symposium.
