Salutation by the International Olympic Academy
Life Saving Sport improves the physical and mental skills and forms the intersocial abilities and the ethical values of the youth. It is one of the oldest physical activities. At Abydos, at the cenotaph temple of Ramesses II, dated 1250 b.c., there is one of the oldest lifesaving representations. The Olympic aspiration of life saving deserves our serious consideration. I applaud the symposium and wish you all the success.
