School
Florida 03.05.2024. The project “Every Child A Swimmer”
benefited 606 children at the Longleaf Elementary School, that were introduced to
water safety as part of the agreement of the International Swimming Hall of
Fame with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation to save lives through
education. The children and the school officials received very positively the
lessons. The lessons were delivered by Brooke Bothun who used innovative means to approach the children
and simulated water-based rescues on land. “We are very pleased to approach
the children and know that our spiritual mission makes an impact in their lives”,
said Casey Mc Govern, ECAS Program Manager. “Thanks to our partnership with
the PCMF, we can save more children from drowning through education”, added
Dr Bill Kent, ISHOF Chairman of the Board. The two organizations were united
under the common mission of benefiting children for water safety and drowning
prevention, after the ECAS Committee Member, Dr Stathis Avramidis liaised with
the two organizations: “We are off to a great start. Sky is our limit”,
he commented. Photos: ISHOF.
