“Safe Greece” in the Sports Village Athitakis (2)
Grammatiko, Greece summer 2025. The summer camp “Sports Village Athitakis” hosted the project “Safe Greece” that is implemented by the Greek Lifesaving Sports Association (GLSA) with the support of the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation (PCMF) and the secondary support of the International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) as part of its spiritual mission “Every Child A Swimmer”. The GLSA, represented by Dr Stathis Avramidis, Efraim Chalkias, Konstantina Alexandrou and Andreas Vretzos, trained thousands of children swimming skills, water safety and lifesaving rescues. All participants (children and camp counselors) had a vivid and pleasant experience. The experienced Head of the camp, Mr. Nestoras Tsekouras was pleased by the outcome of the project and thanked the volunteers and the 3 participating organizations. The President/CEO of the Camp, Mrs. Magda Alexopoulou, said that the aquired knowledge is vital for the safety of children and thus, this iniative is welcome.
