GLSA Organization of the Year Award 2026 to the CNBA
N. Anchialos 08.11.2025. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association presented the Organization of the Year Award to the City of Nis Basketball Association (CNBA) for its outstanding support for the advancement of our aims and objectives to operate, promote and popularize lifesaving sport, drowning prevention and water safety.
The CNBA operates for many years, making a true impact inside and outside Europe as a leader and coordinator of Erasmus+ projects. Through them, countless people receive informal education, awareness and skills that are vital for their wellbeing, survival, personal development, networking and socialization. The GLSA has been blessed to be associated with the CNBA and its President.
The award was presented to the CNBA President Mr. Bojan Golubovic MTM, who commented: “On behalf of my organization, I am honored to receive the Organization of the Year Award. The GLSA has a remarkable track record of activities. The preservation of human lives from aquatic-related injuries is an obligation that my organization(s) are eager to serve. We saw a noble vision and a mission in the work of the GLSA. Thank you for this honor. Together we can make a difference for a safer Europe and world.”
The GLSA President, Dr Stathis Avramidis, said: “It looks unusual and even irrelevant for a lifesaving organization to honor a basketball association, but in this case it is not. Bojan Golubovic and his organization are for us, what we called in ancient Greece, deus ex machina. Thanks to their support, for the past few years, we not only survived but also expanded our activities, impacting numerous youth across inside and outside Europe.This award is our highest recognition and a hamble way to pay back the kindness and support we received.” Photos: GLSA.
