Dissemination Activity – Erasmus+ Project “Reverse the Odds”

Greece, 09.03.2026. As part of the dissemination of the knowledge, experiences, and educational materials developed within the Erasmus+ project “Reverse the Odds”, an awareness-raising and educational session was organized for students specializing as Mountain Guides and Outdoor Activity Leaders.

During the session, Elena Nitsiopoulou presented key information regarding the risks associated with gambling among young people, highlighting the psychological, social, and behavioral impacts that gambling can have on youth. The presentation also focused on prevention strategies, emphasizing the importance of early awareness, responsible decision-making, and targeted educational initiatives.

Particular emphasis was placed on the role of outdoor education professionals in promoting a healthy, active, and balanced lifestyle among young people. Outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, mountaineering, and ski mountaineering were presented as meaningful alternatives that encourage physical activity, teamwork, resilience, and personal responsibility.

Participants engaged actively in the discussion, reflecting on how outdoor education and adventure-based learning can contribute to youth development and risk prevention. The activity provided students with valuable insights and educational resources developed through the Erasmus+ project, helping them better understand the importance of prevention and responsible lifestyle choices.

The session formed an important part of the project’s dissemination strategy, aiming to broaden the impact of the project results by informing and sensitizing future professionals who work directly with young people. The feedback from participants was highly positive, demonstrating increased awareness regarding the risks of gambling and the importance of protecting young people through education, prevention, and the promotion of healthy activities.
