Stathis Avramidis dedicated the book to his two heroes; Greg Bonann and Dr Harald Vervaecke. Bonann is the legendary creation of the TV series "Baywatch" and Vervaecke is the "father" of world lifesaving. Through the interview, particular references were made to H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco for the tremendous contributions to drowning prevention of her Foundation and to Ronald Reagan for his 77 lifeguard rescues before he became the President of the U.S.A.
Papalazaridou said that she was excited to see this encyclopedia and Stathis said that he wrote it to honor those that dedicated their lives to save others, in hope that the new generation will be inspired and thus more lives will be saved.
