Greece 23.02.2020. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association proudly announces the inclusion of the Olympian Ioanna Christou in the team of the GLSA Supporters.

Ioanna Christou said about her appointment: "The lifeguards save lives. Drowning is a serious cause of death in Greece. Each year we lose a whole village from drowning. The cause of this problem relies on the insufficient legislation and the lack of education of the bathers in crucial issues of prevention, rescue and treatment. This tragedy is a shame for a modern European country. But it can be prevented. Lifesaving sport is an essential tool towards the completion of this goal. It educates the professionals with an entertaining way. This is because I gladly accepted to become a Supporter of the important mission that was undertaken by the Greek Lifesaving Sports Association to spread it around!”
