VIRGINIA KRAVARIOTI OLY, BECOMES A GLSA SUPPORTER
Greece 12.02.2020. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association proudly announces the inclusion of the Olympic Winner Virginia Kravarioti in the team of the GLSA Supporters.
Virginia Kravarioti said about her appointment: "Greece is a country with a large coastline
that cannot and is not fully safe. As athlete I have come across dangerous
situations at sea and witnessed stories of sorrow. Surely there is an urgent
need for water safety education. Dr. Stathis Avramidis taught me lifeguarding
and lifesaving sport in Athens University. The academic preparation of dozens
physical educators each year in the methods of how to rescue and teach the
public through Simulated Emergency Response Competitions was enlightening.
Education should be fun. Where traditional methods failed, there is a potential
for lifesaving sport to succeed in drowning prevention, rescue, treatment. I
support with all my strength the Greek
Lifesaving Sports Association that aim to make Greece safer."
