Final countdown for the Greek Lifesaving 2020
Varkiza 19-20.9.2020. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association since its inauguration 8 months ago did everything possible to advance lifesaving sport in Greece. In one week, we will organize the Greek Lifesaving Cup that will resurrect the sport in our country.
The last training
took place at the cloudy beach. A few new swimmers, lifeguards and Olympians
participated in Athens, whereas many others train in various places around
Greece. We thank all Greek and international friends that have faith and help
what we do. Stathis Avramidis, on his name day, says: "My family mourns
the loss of 3 members who lost their lives at sea. Having been with my sister
Eleftheria all our life involved in aquatics and water safety, we felt that it
would be good for Greece to be introduced lifesaving sport. It took us several
years that demanded blood, sweat and tears to be able to give birth and now to
resurrect the sport in Greece. In my name day, this is my gift to all of you. I
will see you in the Greek Lifesaving Cup 2020."
