GLSA MEMBERS SPAN IN 23 COUNTRIES. JOIN US!
Greece 08.03.2021. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association (GLSA), proudly announces that its members span in 23 nations and invites everyone to join the national celebration of 200 years of Greek Independence by becoming an Individual or Club Member for free.
Within only 13 months since its inauguration, GLSA spread already its Individual, Club and Honorary members to 23 countries. These include Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Cyprus, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Haiti, Hawaii, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Rumania, Russia, Spain, Syria, and Uganda.
GLSA is a non-profit organization that was established in the loving memory of 3 relatives of the founders (Christos Kouridakis, Alekos Giannoulias, Joseph Papadakis), who lost their lives at sea. Its aim is to preserve public health from injuries through water safety and lifesaving sport activities.
"We are an organization with a national origin and international impact. A part of this success is attributed to the e-magazine Sport Lifesaver, that is distributed freely to important people, all the national lifesaving organizations in 117 countries and viewed in many others through social media. Each month, we receive flattering gestures of appreciation from everywhere across the globe. Individuals and organizations seek to be associated with us", said the GLSA President Dr. Stathis Avramidis. "If we managed to do so much within such a short period of time, especially during the covid-19 era, who knows what is going to happen in the future!", added the GLSA Vice President Eleftheria Avramidou. "We are passionate, hard working and enthusiastic. We don't care about titles. We are proud to bring results", said GLSA Head of Education, John Dimakopoulos.
This year, 2021,
Greece celebrates the 200 years of Greek Independence (1821-2021). Because this
is closely connected with historical drowning episodes, GLSA participates
actively in this national celebration. Moreover, it invites everyone, individuals
and organizations across the globe, to apply for Individual or Club membership.
