European Lifesaving Network Training

Greece 18-20/07/2023. The partners of the Lifesaving Network met and trained on
how to enhance drowning prevention through lifesaving sport in their 6 European
countries.
Lifesaving Network is the drowning prevention program that boosts the
development of organizations' capacities and expertise to support aquatic
safety recreational education and promote the lifesaving sport values. The
project aims to foster synergy and establish a European network of
organizations working on preventing drowning and promoting lifesaving sport. The
partnership vision is to spread the water safety culture and connect, empower
and engage actors in sport through their skills development to create a strong
community of influential leaders capable of running successful lifesaving
sports programmes and promoting its values. The participating organizations
are: Greek Lifesaving Sports Association, CSO Navissos, Walktogether, KS Beniamenic
03, Kargenc Club, The Novelty Hub. The participating countries are: Greece,
Poland, Serbia, Turkey, Slovenia and Bulgaria. The initiative is co-funded by
the European Union.
The project partners met at the School of Sports Science and Physical
Education of Athens University and the ANOG Swimming Pool. They trained
theoretically and practically on lifesaving sport events and prepared for the implementation
of training and raising awareness sessions in their countries. The training was
