GLSA honors Raev, Grigorov, IFRCHF
Varna, Bulgaria 14.06.2025. On the occasion of the 60th celebration, Dr Stathis Avramidis presented the GLSA Organization of the Year 2025 to the International Festival and Red Cross Films (IFRCHF) and Honorary Life Memberships to Ilko Raev and the acad. Hristo Grigorov for their inspiration and contribution to humanity, safety and cinematography.
This festival is the crossroad where art meets
humanism. It is a place of innovation, dedication, contribution and input to
society. It acts as a beacon for artists, health and safety professionals,
volunteers and the entire world.

On behalf of the Greek Lifesaving Sports Association (GLSA), a national non-profit organization with international alliances and impact on water safety and lifesaving sport, Dr Avramidis honored the Festival’s Director and the Bulgarian Red Cross’ President, saying: “In 1995, South Africa won the world rugby cup. Thanks to that, Nelson Mandela made something impossible. He created the rainbow nation, uniting white and black people. When they ask him what is the meaning of this triumph, he said: "The most important in every act of kindness is not the act itself, but the hope that because it happened once, it can happen again!" Tonight, l am proud to present to the IFRCHF the GLSA Organisation of the Year Award 2025, as a humble way to triumph 60 years of services and inspiration to the world. I am also proud to present the GLSA Honorary Membership status to two great men, that act as pillars of inspiration and innovation for cinematography, humanism, health and safety. Nelson Mandela would be proud for the academic Hristo Grigorov and llko Raev. So do we.”
