Humanitarian Team IHC
Glyfada, Greece 12.06.2026. The Greek Lifesaving Sports Association presented the Humanitarian Award to the Citizens' Association Humanitarian Team IHC for voluntary activity that advanced drowning prevention through water safety and swimming.
The Citizens' Association Humanitarian Team IHC (CAHT-IHC) is a volunteer humanitarian organization based in Serbia that focuses on emergency preparedness, disaster response, first aid, and community resilience. The association works closely with the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center (RSHC) in Niš, participating in specialized training programs designed to improve the skills of volunteers in responding to emergencies and natural disasters. The team brings together citizens who are committed to serving their communities through humanitarian activities. Members receive education and practical training in areas such as wildfire suppression, first aid, navigation and orientation in natural environments, working at height, and firefighting tactics. These programs help volunteers develop the knowledge and competencies required for effective action during emergencies. In addition to training, Humanitarian Team IHC members have participated in real-life humanitarian and emergency-response activities. They have assisted in forest fire suppression operations and supported large public events such as the Drina Regatta, where volunteers provided assistance and safety support to participants. The organization also emphasizes internationally recognized first-aid education. Through volunteerism, training, and public service, the Citizens' Association Humanitarian Team IHC contributes to strengthening Serbia’s capacity for disaster preparedness, emergency response, and humanitarian assistance.
Upon reception, the IHC Humanitarian President, Aleksandra Stanković, said: “We express our sincere gratitude for the honor. This recognition serves as a confirmation of our efforts to date and as an additional motivation to continue acting responsibly, with dedication, and in the spirit of successful international cooperation. We sincerely thank you for your trust, support, and the recognition you have extended to us. We look forward to future cooperation and the exchange of knowledge and experience in the fields of humanitarian action, civil protection, and rescue services.”
The GLSA President Dr Stathis Avramidis, said: “We proudly recognize the dedication and contributions of CAHT-IHC in saving lives. This organization has great potential. Congratulations!”
