Training Camp of the Erasmus+ Lifesaving Network - Day 3
Glyfada, Greece, 12/06/2026. As part of the Erasmus+ “Lifesaving Network Sequel – Heroes Zone” Project (ID: 101241832), young participants from partner countries gathered in Glyfada, Greece, for an exciting and educational training day focused on first aid and simulated emergency rescue scenarios.
The event was designed to further develop participants' lifesaving competencies while promoting teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and social responsibility through experiential learning. Throughout the day, participants received practical training in first aid by dr Stathis Avramidis and were challenged to apply their knowledge during a series of Simulated Emergency Rescue Competitions (SERC) conducted both on land and in the water.
The realistic rescue scenarios required participants to assess emergency situations, communicate effectively, prioritize casualties, and provide appropriate first aid while working collaboratively as rescue teams. The exercises reflected situations that lifeguards and first responders may encounter in real life, helping participants gain confidence and develop essential lifesaving skills.
The atmosphere was energetic and enthusiastic from start to finish. Participants expressed great excitement about the activities and highlighted the value of learning through realistic simulations. Many stated that they had acquired vital skills that could one day help them save lives and contribute positively to their communities. They also emphasized their appreciation for the opportunities provided through the cooperation of the participating organizations and the support of the European Union.
At the conclusion of the training day, participants of
the project partners (EduSphera, Beniaminek03, Greek Lifesaving
Sports Association) attended a certificate ceremony recognizing their
commitment and successful participation in the programme. Certificates of
attendance, issued by the European Union and the Greek Lifesaving
Sports Association, were presented by Dr. Stathis Avramidis, who
congratulated the participants for their teamwork and willingness to learn
skills that can make a meaningful difference in society.
The event represented another successful milestone of
the Erasmus+ Lifesaving Network Sequel – Heroes Zone project, demonstrating how
lifesaving sport can educate, engage, and inspire young people while fostering
international cooperation and promoting a culture of safety and solidarity.
