Erasmus+ Lifesaving Network Training Camp - Day 2

Glyfada, Greece 11.06.2026. The Erasmus+ project "Lifesaving Network Sequel Heroes Zone" (Project ID: 101241832) held its second training day that included first aid, pool lifeguard rescues and selected lifesaving sport events.

 


The training camp brought together participants from Poland, Greece, Serbia, creating a multicultural learning environment where young people developed essential lifesaving knowledge, practical rescue skills, and a strong spirit of international cooperation.

During the morning session, participants received comprehensive training in first aid including bleeding, immobilizing a motorbike driver after a vehicle crash, object embedded in the body, and heart attack.



During the afternoon session, participants received were trained in water rescues. These included reach rescue, throw rescue, pool/waterpark lifeguard rescues to conscious victims. In addition, there were introduced to lifesaving sport practicing the medley relay and the rope throw relay.

 







The educational activities were delivered by Efraim Chalkias, BEd, assisted by Stathis Avramidis, PhD, representing the Greek Lifesaving Sports Association. Their expertise ensured the delivery of high-quality training while promoting the values of lifesaving sport as a powerful educational and social development tool. All the participants expressed deep satisfaction about the two days of training.

The participating organizations represented in the training camp were: EduSphera (Serbia), Greek Lifesaving Sports Association (Greece), Beniaminek 3 (Poland). The training camp took place in the wonderful swimming pool of ANOG club.
