Erasmus+
project "Reverse the Odds":
Preventing Youth Gambling (part 2)
Nis, Serbia 20.08.2025. During the second day of the training of the Erasmus+ project "Reverse the Odds", the participants created an e-guide with a clearly structured prevention model.
Introduction
The project runs between 2024-2026, among 4 organizations; Germany (Verbund sozial-kultureller Migrantenvereine Dortmund e.V.) as a coordinator and Lithuania (PSA), Serbia (City of Nis Debate Club), and Greece (Greek Lifesaving Sports Association) as partners. Each organization contributes expertise in youth work, training, or addiction prevention. This project addresses the increasingly problem of youth engagement in online gambling and its associated risks. The significant rise in access to online casinos, sports betting, and other gambling activities in recent years, especially via mobile apps, poses a serious threat to the emotional, financial, and social well-being of young people.
Results
The second day included the creation of an e-guide with a clearly structured prevention model, disseminated to at least 30 organizations across Europe. Totally, 16 trained specialists were armed with skills on how they will share their knowledge with an additional 60 colleagues to their countries. Follow updates with the hashtag: #ReverseTheOdds
