GLSA Lifetime Achievements Award
The GLSA Lifetime Achievements Award is the highest individual honor of the Greek Lifesaving Sports Association. It is presented annually to an individual with outstanding contributions to lifesaving sport, applied lifeguarding, aquatics and water safety.
2021: John Long, Vice President of the Royal Life Saving Society Commonwealth and ILS Knight in the Order of Lifesaving. Citation: "For outstanding contributions that enhance applied lifeguarding and lifesving sport within the Commonwealth and his support to Greece." (more).
2022: Voula Patoulidou, Deputy Regional Governor of Thessaloniki and gold Olympic Medalist. Citation: "For outstanding contributions that enhance applied lifeguarding and lifesving sport within Greece and her support to the aims and objectives of the GLSA" (more).
2023: Prof. Joost Bierens, Founding Member, International Drowning Research Alliance and Editor of the Handbook on Drowning. Citation: "For outstanding achievements and worldwide contributions on drowning prevention, rescue, treatment" (more).
